Mozilla 1.3b, running core necko functional test. STEPS: The link provided is an unused IP address I control (so I know it is reachable and unresponsive). OBSERVED BEHAVIOR: Win 98: "The document contains no data." Linux: no error, no user feedback after timeout (per biesi) EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: "The operation timed out when attempting to contact 63.207.57.30".

I received no such error, but Mozilla couldn't resolve the IP. Using build 2003021008 under Windows XP Home (SP1)

benc: same thing. we were treating all connection exceptions as TCP resets :( *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 189965 ***

REOPEN: b/c I'll need to verify separately. (my linux system seemed to have a connection establishment timeout of 12+ minutes, so there is an error message in linux, bisei and I just didn't wait long enough!)

i have recieved two different messages: The first, which I recieved yesterday(immediately after downloading mozillafirefox) was recieved whilst loading pages, it read: "the document contains no data". The second, which i have been recieving today whilst trying to open webpages reads: "the operation timed out when trying to contact HOSTNAME". This has renderredme unable to use mozilla and I am having to use IE to do this. I am unable to use IE usually as it is broken but it has worked for this thankfully. Can anyone help me and tell me what to do, prefferably without ll the technical names as I don not really understand them. thatkyou!! if you need to, you can e-mailme at gorjus_gal14@hotmail.co.uk
