User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

Because of a problem with a remote printserver, lpd fails to start on the local
system. When printing from command line or Netscape 4.8, I see a warning
lpr: connect: No such file or directory
jobs queued, but cannot start daemon.
Mozilla freezes for about 20 minutes and then crashes, when in this case trying
to print.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot system, when remote printserver is offline.
2.print anything with mozilla on any printer.
3.

Actual Results:
Mozilla freezes for about 20 minutes and then crashes.

Expected Results:
print, not freeze/crash

TB17485176W
SuSE Linux 7.3
using old lpd

No stack in TB, all the info I have is
Trigger Type: Program Crash
Trigger Reason: SIGIOT: Abort or IOT Instruction: (signal 6)
Reporter:
Which printer name did you select - was that "PostScript/default" or something
else ?
Something else: PostScript/lp (local printer) and PostScript/lj6p (remote printer)

That are all printers handled by the PostScript module...

Can you try whether
http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla1.2.1/index.html#xprint works for you,
please ?

Same result with xprint.
While testing, I realized, that the steps to reproduce the crash are as followes:
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Print to remote printer, when remote printserver is offline.
2.Reboot system, while job is pending.
3.print anything with mozilla on any printer.
When I tried to print, Xprt gave this messages:

Last message, when mozilla was killed.
Unlike printing with PS module, with Xprt the page was queued. After restarting
the print services (SuSE: rclpd restart) the page was printed properly.

Hi there, is this something you can still reproduce against the trunk today? Please see if you still reproduce this error on the 2007 nightlies of Gran Paradiso (Fx3). Thanks.
-> works for me in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9a9pre) Gecko/2007092605 Minefield/3.0a9pre ID:2007092605 and also missing feedback (comment #8)
