RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 69807

People

(Reporter: caseyg, Assigned: preed)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)
Build Identifier:

It is not possible to change the fact that after logging in the first thing
you see is the query page. It would be nice to have the ability to change this
to some saved query, like "My Bugs" This way when you login you get all of
your active bugs first. It should be something that you can set in params for
the default value for when user is created, as well as something each user can
specify in their preferences.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Taking (since I said I would).

Casey: minor clarification here... this bug *may* be invalid; see the current
discussions on developers@ for why.

I want to be clear here: you want to be able to (for instance):

1. Go to bugzilla.mozilla.org.
2. Click the "Log In" link on the toolbar or the list of options.
3. Be presented with a login screen where you can enter your password, etc.
4. Be presented with a list of the logged in user's bugs, NOT the query page.

Do I have that right?

Yes that is right. I would think that you should be able to change what page
you get after a succesfull login. Wether you want it to be the query pages, or
the user's current bugs, or any other saved query.
You *can* change the page via the templates, but that's admittedly not very
easy... and as I raised on developers@, I don't know if buglist.cgi has the
functionality to stop and prompt a user for login information, and then "fill
in" a query once the user is logged in.

Ccing the usual suspects for comments on this.

But I definitely think we should offer an easy way (a Param, possibly?) to
change where the "Log in" links go without this much hassle; there are a lot of
sensible common options for this ("My bugs"/"My Requests" list, query page, last
bug I committed to (maybe?)... stuff like that).
That is exactly what i am hoping to see. It would be very nice to have such an
option.
See also bug 83044. This isn't a dupe, but they conflict with each other, so we
can't fix both. Personally I think 83044 is a better idea.
I agree that 83044 is a better solution, but I don't think they conflict; this
is in the case where someone is logging in from the index page; 83044 is in the
case where you're logging in from trying to complete (certain?) actions, like
viewing a bug.

A param may accomdate everyone: "Login to: My bugs/My Requests/Query Page/Last
operation/Last Bug I edited/Admin Page/etc.

Er... no, it isn't :-) In those cases, you already go to the correct page
(otherwise you couldn't finish the action you are trying to complete.) Bug 83044
also refers to the default page you go to when logging in, either from the front
page or the footer.

Isn't this a dupe of Bug 69807?
