Compacting folders in 1.3 takes 50-75% longer than with 1.1. I use 1.1 b/c
compacting folders in 1.2x seemed to be broken, but that's a separate issue. :)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Delete an email from a folder.
2. Compact folder.

I can't speak about release specifics, but compacting definitely takes
_substantially_ longer than it used to. It's now almost possible to read the
subjects as they go pass being compacted, whereas before it was a blur.
I know, that's highly subjective :) but it's true! honest!
Cheers,

there's a patch in bug 172786 that should speed up compact folder somewhat.
However, when I compact a folder, the thread pane is blanked out so you don't
see message subjects going by at all. There was a bug that we showed message
headers while regenerating summary files, but that's fixed in 1.4 final builds
