I've seen this happen though I can't reproduce the bug consistently. Confirming.

I think this is what the latest patch from bryner in bug 54035 is supposed to fix.

Compiles, but not tested yet, need to do that. This should also make sure that only text search is enabled in a text page.

Is this still a problem? I think bryner's fix of bug 54035 took care ofthis.

this is still a problem --all platforms, using 2003.03.25 (comm trunk). looks like it occur when you load the midas demo for the first time in a window. reduced test case: 1. open a new browser window. 2. load http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/ 3. you'll notice that the cursor is blinking in the textarea --start typing some text, eg, "css" (without quotes). results: Find As You Type is triggered.

That is a separate problem. focus is not actually in the midas control.

Mike, I assume you're talking to Sarah about the focus problem. What is this focus problem? Is there a bug filed on it? Should this bug be marked dependent on that, or fixed, or is there still something I need to do?

is this still a problem with recent (4/2 or later) trunk builds? this could just be a dup of bug 197325...

I see this if and only if the editor is inside a frameset. Seems to have been fixed for 1.4, though.
