User-Agent: Mozilla/4.7 (X11; Linux) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030316 Debian/1.3-1 Starting with 1.3, every query I execute at bugzilla.mozilla.org causes the sidebar to switch to the "Search" panel. Nothing is loaded there, it just switches to it from whichever other sidebar was on top. ...wow. The more queries I execute, the more annoying this becomes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to the bugzilla query page. 2. Click random stuff. Or nothing at all. 3. Run the query. Actual Results: "Search" sidebar tab came to the top. Expected Results: Not a damn thing. :-)
I've duplicated this on multiple machines now, all running x86/Linux, all running 1.3. They all switch to "Search" after a bugzilla query. Haven't had an opportunity to try on other platforms yet.
reproduced on Windows XP with build 2003031905

I reported something similar to this in bug 205036, but was told that this is expected behavior since Bugzilla is considered a search engine, and my prefs- >Internet Search->Open the search tab... pref was enabled. In that bug, however, I had to dance a jig for it to come up, which I figured was bug, but apparently isn't :-/ In either case, this bug may be invalid.
'course that depends on the state of your pref :-)
I would agree with comment 3 and 4: The opening is an intended behaviour with according pref.. Then this bug sould be marked as duplicate of bug 205036 :-( (or marked Invalid too.) Regarding the Search Results remaining blank: (which is not the main point of the Description) This bug would be a duplicate of bug 182413 :-> In all case, it should be Resolved now. NB: Changing OS from Linux to All. (see comment 2, and I can confirm it myself on W95.)
OS: Linux → All
Seems this is "working as intended," then, as unintuitive as it may be. :-) As the reporter, I'm changing this to resolved/FIXED, even though I was mightily tempted to set resolved/WONTFIX instead.
