Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030409
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030409

if you enable find as you type, then try to enter any charachter or string,
mozilla will come to a grinding halt, but does not segfault. if window is moved,
nothing redraws.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. press edit -> preferances-> advanced
2.select keyboard navigation
3.enable find as you type
4.try to enter any url in the url box.

Actual Results:
mozilla came to a halt. no redraw either after moving window.

Expected Results:
autocompleted the url or at least attempted to.

im using xfree 4.3 fbsd 4.8 stable, windowmaker latest stable
athlon 1400xp 256mb ram
asus mobo.

this happened as soon as mozilla has compiled from the freebsd ports, no special
compilation options, just make clean install. as soon as i ran it from csh.
Severity: blocker → critical
Workaround: leave "Find As You Type" unchecked, and use / to start incremental
search on page for text, and ' to start incremental search only in links tekst
(_not_ in URLs).
Comment on comment #1: WORKSFORME (both Find As You Type for links only, and for
whole text) for Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3; MultiZilla
v1.4.0.2) Gecko/20030314, from mozilla-1.3-0_rh7 RPM. Bot I didn't checked it
with restarting Mozilla!
Reporter: Is this still a problem with a current Mozilla build?
Moving to Keyboard: Find As You Type. Resolving WFM, no obvious dupes, and no
response from the reporter.
