in regular mozilla, after loading history (ctrl + h), ctrl+f loads up a window
that has advance options in searching such as title, url, dates, etc. i was
unable to find such a tool in Mozilla Firebird 0.6. Am I missing something or
was it remove?
the find tool in firebird is too basic to be much use. it only searches titles.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open History (ctrl + h)
2. Open history finder (ctrl + f)
Actual Results:
a finder with options should've popped up.
Expected Results:
nothing

Confirming and recommending WONTFIX. This would be more suited to an extension
as most users don't/won't use it.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
i would like to note that currently firebird/phoenix's history search is way too
limited. only being able to search through the title i believe defeats the
purpose of having a good history log.
sorry, forgot to mention that the history search function in the normal mozilla
program is awesome and would love to have that imported into firebire/phoenix.

This should be fixed. This is basic functionality. For instance, today I lost
a page that I knew was in the new york times. However, firebird offers no way
to view or search the history for www.nytimes.com
In fact, I would elevate the severity of this bug.

imo, search by url is indeed, at least.

I think URLs should be included history quicksearches by default. I don't think
options are necessary.

Just posted Bug 233773, which revives this issue for similar but different reasons.

thon5000@yahoo.com: the fact that an extension exist doesn't mean a bug is fixed
(we may want to have it "built-in").

If #328559 should be marked as a duplicate of this, this bug must also cover two more options:
1. search in/of the path, that is, for this page show_bug.cgi?id=208795
2. search in domains/subdomains
Basically, this is just aboud adding metadata. For example, if your domain contains the string 'cgi' and you search for that you don't want millions of hits on dynamic cgi-generated pages and vice versa, if the path contains 'com', you don't want millions of hits from domains in the TLD .com.
