i have testet mozilla 1.5a, firebird (the nightly built) and the nightly sources
of firebird. in my build i have not siabled the debug output on the console and
you can find the output and the .mozconfig at www.erdbeere.net/mozilla in a few
minutes

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open the browser
2. right click to get the menue
3. "save link as"

or

1. go to a webpage, where a "save as" dialog will open

Actual Results:  
mozilla froze

Expected Results:  
save the file would be nice, i think ;-)

i use gtk2 and libidl-0.8.2 on a gnu/debian system.

Does renaming the downloads.rdf (or whatever it's called nowadays) file help?

if i understand you correct, you think about the name of the file to download,
but the browser crash by saving any file with any name.and i dont have a chance
to edit the file in the "save as"-dialog.

No.  I'm talking about the file downloads.rdf in your Mozilla profile.  Quit
Mozilla, move this file out of the way (eg rename it to some other name), start
Mozilla, and try saving.

i have moved the file to an other directory, but no changes. the browser crash
always :(

Attachment: ls > ls.txt from the directoy where the save as would start

the File Terminator 3 has a non correct character in his filename.
If I'd like to save a page, Mozilla opens the save as dialog and hangs. 
I think it could be possible, that this problem would occure of the wrong
charracter in the filename Terminator 3

Reporter: Have your tried this with a build newer than 2004-01-07, when the fix
for bug 225125 was checked in?
