Details

User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030313
Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/firebird/releases/0.6.1/MozillaFirebird-0.6.1-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz

I recently upgraded my KDE to 3.1.3, XFree86 to 4.3.0 and glibc to 2.3.2. Now
Firebird won't even start up anymore. When I do start it, it crashes with a
Segmentation Fault and displays this error:

MozillaFirebird/run-mozilla.sh: line 454: 11083 Segmentation fault
 "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

I've re-downloaded Firebird and problem still occurs. But the Mozilla Suite
works just fine. In fact, I'm using Mozilla 1.3 right now, but I want Firebird.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Upgrade KDE, XFree86 and glibc
2.Start up Firebird
3.

Actual Results:
Firebird crashes with the following:

MozillaFirebird/run-mozilla.sh: line 454: 11083 Segmentation fault
 "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

Expected Results:
Start up properly

My OS is Slackware 9
Reporter, does this occur using a current nightly? I'm using KDE 3.1 and XFree
4.3.something on my Linux install (SuSE) so I'm thinking perhaps glibc might be
the culprit, not sure.

possible duplicate of bug 221217
Matthew, are you trying to use a gtk2+xft build of mozilla firebird?
not possible that its a dupe, since the regression in that bug was due to a
checkin 19 days after this bug was filed :)
No response from reporter since initial bugreport. Marking WFM. Please reopen
this bug if you still see this with a current build.
