User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1 When Firebird opens a dialog box, if I click OK/CANCEL once, it doesn´t close! To close it, I have to click it more than 2 times and wait about 7 seconds. It also happens when I open the Options Window and when I´m installing a Plug-in. Sometimes I have to close Firebird and reopen it, because even clicking OK or CANCEL a hundred times, the dialog box don´t disappear. This is happening since I´ve installed Firebird. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click "Tools" -> "Options..." on the menu bar or, install a plug-in or, force firebird to open a dialog box where OK or CANCEL appears. 2. Click OK or CANCEL. Actual Results: I had to click OK 3 times and wait 7 seconds to firebird close the window. Expected Results: Close the window/dialog box/plug-in installer as soon as I click a button. I´m using Firebird as default. My computer is a Compaq Presario 5333. My OS is Windows 2000 Professional.
I am seeing a similar problem with the Sept 11 2003 build, but it doesn't match the original description exactly. First, the Cancel button can still be used to close the window. Second, it doesn't happen every time I open the window (in fact, it seems like I have to switch option categories in order for it to occur). Third, it doesn't seem to matter how many times I click OK, or how long I wait. The only way I've found to get the OK button to respond is to switch to a different Options category and try the button again. After a few tries it closes. I am running Windows XP Home on a P4 (Dell Dimension 4550). This occurred after a clean install. All I did was copy over the bookmarks, cookies, and cookie permissions from my previous install, customize the button layout, then I tried to set some options and ran into this problem.

I'm having this problem with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20030924 Firebird/0.7+
I had this too on some builds but I believe it's fixed (it doesn't occur on my current build 20031103 Firebird/0.7+ I'm using win98 though
This usually only happens to me after I alter the cookie exceptions. The options window, after doing so, will only close by using Cancel. Of course, the changed options are already saved, so it is only a minor inconvenience. Running WinXP Pro 2600 SP1
This is tough to reproduce. I got it to happen once by: 1. Click Tools -> Options 2. On the left pane, one of the options will be selected. Click on a different one. 3. Click OK. Nothing happens. Click OK again. The options dialog box closes correctly. No amount of trying got it to re-occur. This was using build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031201 Firebird/0.7+
I'm not sure if the OP's bug is the same as the Options window problems the rest of us are seeing. FWIW, I've had the non-OKable Options window problem consistently over many systems for a very long time - back to some of the pre-Mozilla 1.0 milestones! I'm amazed it is still here in the latest Firebird nightly. In my case it is definitely due to the 'Home page location' writable field. If you focus that field and make an alteration (even a single character), the Options dialogue's OK button becomes inoperable (by click or pressing Enter) until the dialogue is cancelled. It's a bit annoying as it makes changing the home page possible only by using the 'current page' button. I have not found any other windows that behave like this. As Ashley says, the writable in the Exceptions box seems to have the same effect on the options window; on the other hand, the cache size writable does not.

I've hit this (OK doesn't close Options but Cancel does) several times in the last few days on WinXP. I haven't found a way to reproduce it reliably.
Ok, here we go. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Options. 2. Go to the Downloads panel. 3. Go to any other panel (e.g. Themes). 4. Click "OK". Result: Nothing happens. If you have javascript.options.showInConsole set to true, you'll see the following error in updateSaveToFolder(): Error: bundle has no properties Source File: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/pref-downloads.js Line: 164 163 var bundle = document.getElementById("strings"); 164 var description = bundle.getString("myDownloads");

The steps to reproduce in my previous comment apply to 12/07. With 12/08, WFM with the same steps. Ben snuck in a fix for the downloads panel problem as part of his checkin for bug 214260.

Yep, the recent changes definitely fixed some of the issues. Good stuff! I'm still seeing some strangeness in 20031208, though. Here's my favorite way to reproduce... 1. Tools / Options 2. Click on Privacy 3. Expand Cookies and click Exceptions 4. Click OK in the resulting box Now OK doesn't work, but Cancel does.
