219854 - Can't switch between engines in search bar

Burning Edge reader Long Zheng described this bug to me.  The bug has slightly
different effects depending on which items you select in the search bar, so
there are two sets of (steps, results, expected).

Works:  Firebird 09/16 on WinXP
Broken: Firebird 09/17 on WinXP


Steps to reproduce:
1. Switch between "Google" and "Find in this Page" (in the search bar).

Result: The icon doesn't change, but pressing enter does the right thing.
Expected: The icon should change.


Steps to reproduce:
1. Install the dictionary.com search plugin from mycroft.  (Bug 219534 makes
this tricky.  I did it by copying the searchplugins directory from an older build.)
2. Switch between "Google" and "Dictionary.com" (in the search bar).

Result: The icon doesn't change AND pressing enter does not go to the engine you
just selected.
Expected: The icon should change, and pressing enter should do the right thing.


In both cases, opening a new window fixes it.

I can confirm the 2nd set of steps. Copy searchplugins folder from older build.
Icon doesn't change and search always corresponds to icon showing.

"Fixes" is a bit misleading. The new window takes the selection made in the
previous window, but still will not change.

In 1st window:
-Change search from Google to Dictionary.com: icon does not change and enter
searches google.
-Open new window (Ctrl-n or File->Open...): New window opens and search icon is
Dictionary.com icon. Enter searches Dictionary.com
-Change search from Dictionary.com to Google: icon does not change and enter
searches dictionary.

Is this an issue with the Dictionary.com search plugin only? I have several
other search plugins (i.e. imdb.com) and I have no problem switching search engine.
