User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Categories created via the Sidebar/Search/"Edit Categories" function are not remembered. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set Preferences/Internet Search to Advanced. 2. Via Sidebar/Search/Edit Categories create a category. 3. Add a seachplugin to that category and press OK Actual Results: 1. In the "Search within" drop-down the new category is shown - this is correct 2. Re-open "Edit Categories" and no categoreis exist in the drop-down - wrong 3. Close and re-open Mozilla - the created category is now also missing from the "Search within" drop-drop and still missing from Edit Categories - wrong Expected Results: 1. Defined categories should be remembered. 2. The search plugins assigned to those categories should be remembered. 1. Observed this on both a clean 1.5 installation and also on an upgrade installtion (1.3->1.5) 2. The defined categories can be seen inside Profile/search.rdf but Mozilla does not seem to be reading this information. 3. Deleted Profile/search.rdf, fault persists with re-created rdf. 4. Deleted Profile/XUL.xfl, fault persists with re-created xfl. 5. Search still continues to work OK from "All Engines".

I was experiencing this problem in Firebird as well. I thought it was only a Firebird issue, but it appears to be fixed now in Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031117 Firebird/0.7. I've also tried using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031110 and it too seems to be working now.
The problem seems to be fixed in... Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Thanks Alan
