after stumbling over myself a few times, i realized that the patch for bug 223084
indicates that the |dir| argument to nsStaticComponentLoader::
AutoRegisterComponents doesn't have any meaning to the static component loader.
duh!! anyways, it seems like we can therefore cleanup some things in that file.
