Chatzilla has died four times in the last two days. I downloaded moz 1.6a to see
if it would go away but Moz is still dying... and it only dies while running
chatzilla...

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start chatzilla
2.browse/ chat/ fill in forms
3.

Actual Results:  
Sometimes just moz just dies


I ran moz in the console to see if there were errors being echoed and found
Exception calling xulSortService.sort()

I don't know if this is what is causing the problem... 
I'm marking this as major because whatever is causing the bug makes Moz die

The sort service warning is unrelated.  What version of chatzilla are you using?
(see /about)  What do you mean by "dies"?  Is there anything in particular that
you were doing when it died?

I wasn't doing anything in particular. I was browsing sites the last time it
failed... the same thing had happened with 1.5 and I'd hoped it was gone with
1.6a The Netscape error catcher opened up saying 'send a report' so I did. I had
to ps ax and kill moz to get rid of the frozen moz. Restarting moz= no pbs 
but 
I am running moz in the console to see if I can catch the error the next time.

Do you have the talkback ID?  Are you saying it locked up, not crashed?

Locked up not crashed.
I don't know how to get the TalkBack ID...

Can you try a recent nightly?  I think I saw this last week, but I haven't seen
it recently.
