Dataloss A number of my mailbox folders are mispelled, in that they are all shown in capital (upper case) letters. I don't see the patterns, but the following are examples: Real name (via 4.7) Fake name (via 5.0, 1/20 build on Win 98) nice NICE spam SPAM Inbox INBOX nsx NSX lunch LUNCH y2K Y2K I also have many "correctly" reported names: Trash China ramanlunch Status Stock ThinkPad cpd_mngrs I can't see the pattern. The thing that attracted my attention was when I tried to file a message into my "spam" folder, I was given an error message along the lines of "Server reports no such folder". The bad news was that the message vanished from my inbox, but never made it into the "spam" folder (which is mis-spelled on 5.0 as SPAM). Note that I have many messages in my IMAP folders here on Win 98... and this *might* be related to other IMAP download problems!
It turns out this is not dataloss... the MIA message returns to the Inbox eventually. It is disturbing that I can't file messages, and that I can't view (most of) the misspelled folders. I can read my mispelled "INBOX", but can't look at my mispelled "SPAM" (maybe this is a feature! ;-) ).
Summary: [dogfood] Losing mail during folder filing, due to Case error? → [dogfood] Losing mail during folder filing, due to Case error?
Putting on the pdt+ radar.

Summary: [dogfood] Losing mail during folder filing, due to Case error? → [dogfood] IMAP fldr names have wrong case; breaks opening and filing
Target Milestone: M14
fixed by respecting the online name as returned by the server, and not using the name of the msf file - win98 tends to munge file names in strange ways.

Used Win98 2000-01-27-08-M14 commercial build: Only the Inbox still keep the upper case "INBOX" in 5.0 now..but 5.0 still can recognize the INBOX. Now, all the folders described from this bug displayed correctly and can been recognized in 5.0, also file/copy the msgs to these folders are working OK now. Marking as verified!
