I installed FF 0.9 after I had installed 0.9rc.
Installation worked without any error, but when trying to start up FF it doesn't
appear. Looking in the processes list I can see that it is there and consuming
between 6 and 18 % of memory (512MB on my machine with 3.2GHz processor).
I tried any possible way of installation and also did a clean install but the
result were always the same.
The event log shows the following msg.
The run-time environment has detected an inconsistency in its internal state.
This indicates a potential instability in the process that could be caused by
the custom components running in the COM+ application, the components they make
use of, or other factors. Error in

i finally reinstalled FF 0.9rc and it works perfectly
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install FF
2. Startup FF
Actual Results:
Nothing... FF only appears in the processes list.
Expected Results:
startup

You did uninstall the previous version first?
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/0.9.html#install
Yes.
1st I tried to do a simple upgrade, but as it didn't work I uninstalled 0.9rc
and made a clean install of 0.9.

Even though I could not reproduce the bug, the bug seems well-written and I
could not find any similar bugs.
I've switched this bug to NEW.

Ran well first 24hrs, then installed 2 extensions (Almost Fullscreen & ?).
After that, bug appeared. Uninstalled/reinstalled. FF present in processes
tab, but will not run. No changes to XP config. Norton Firewall & Antivirus
on system.
I'm using now 9.2 and it's working fine.
I think you could close the BUG.
