User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.2; Linux) (KHTML, like Gecko)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040510
In the current versions of Mozilla Mail for deleting a mail, a User has to
press the Del key in the keyboard.
An ergonomically and better used Shortcut Key in sync with other MUAs for
Deleting a Mail would be Ctrl+D.
Mozilla Mail has currently no action associated with Ctrl+D.
For Deleting a Mail a user needs to be press Del key only.
But other mail user agents like Mutt,Evolution,Outlook have definted Ctrl+D
for deleting the open message.
This is found to be comfortable in other MUAs and a user switching from these
MUAs to Mozilla mail might miss this highly helpful Shortcut key.
While at newgroups,if a user is willing to scan/read and delete the mails
quickly, then having a shortcut like *Ctrl+D* comes more handy then Del key.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a Mail message. To Delete - Press Del Key.
2.In a Different MUA,like mutt,evolution,Outlook, press Ctrl+D. Check the
difference in your hand-key co-ordination.
3.
Actual Results:
Ctrl+D is not bound to any action in Mozilla mail.
Expected Results:

Hi,
I checked with the bugs raised earlier.
The Resolution Given is.
1) Use Del Key as Designed.
2) Use Alt + E and D ( Alt + E will open the Edit Menu and press D for Delete)
The reason for raising this enhancement bug is, Ctrl+D seems to give better
control than Del or Alt+E+D.
I wish mozilla team considers this point.
Regards,
Senthil

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
