Attached are image files for the Windows installer which depict the latest
version of the Sunbird logo.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Attached image Sunbird Logo - 48x48, used on toolbar (obsolete) —
Attached is the latest Sunbird logo (48x48) as used on the toolbar. However,
along with Chris Cook, I support this image not be used on the toolbar and
instead put a Firefox throbber image (circle of dots) which will animate during
extended operations (pubish, subscribe, import, export) vice the current action
(brings up the about page).
Attachment #157653 - Attachment is obsolete: true
Updated graphics for the Windows Sunbird installer. The latest Sunbird logo is used.

The 48x48 logo image is used on the toolbar (bring up the about page), however
along with Chris Cook, I support thie image be deleted and a Firefox throbber
(circle of dots image) replace it on the toolbar. The throbber will animate
during extended operations (publish, subscribe, import, export).
Latest version of the Sunbird logo is used in this About page graphics. I'm
concerned about localization as this image has the words "Sunbird" and "It'
about time" written on the graphic in english. I assume we share this
english-centric slogan issue along with Firefox and Thunderbird.

Sunbird About Page graphic (uses latest logo)

It is a bad idea to put text in the image. It makes it hard to localize that
way.
All images checked in. Thanks
mvl is right, it's better not to have language specific text in the image, so
can you please provide us with one without the text?
However I will check the about image in for two reasons:
1)It's better to have the text and slogan in english than not to have it. So
unless we get the code to display a localized version of the slogan, it can go in.
2)Firefox and Thunderbird have their texts in the image and as someone said in
the thread the slogan is better off not to be translated since the translation
doesn't make the same sense in other languages (and maybe that's their same
reasoning).
Anyhow, is it possible to display text on top of an image?
As for the throbber, it seems everyone agrees with it being the same as firefox
and thunderbird. I will cc Chris Cook to see if he has a patch to make that change
(In reply to Comment #8)
It is certainly possible to float text over the image if we want to support that.

(In reply to Comment #9)
I've been using the *other* throbber in my working version of the theme so I can
easily submit a patch for that.
Is there a reason why this bug is still open?
Marking fixed, sue me =)
