User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Twice when visiting slashdot one of their mid-page ads contained a Java applet. The applet didn't scroll as part of the page, it was fixed in place relative to the window borders, and left big black rectangles on the page beneath. THe Sun Javastation ads seem to do this reliably. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit slashdot.org, keep bringing up story pages until you see the Javastation ad with the Java applet beneath it. 2. Scroll the page. 3. Switch to another tab. Actual Results: The java applet remained fixed to the page, even when I switched to a tab showing a page on another site that applet remained visible. Expected Results: The applet should have scrolled with the page and only been visible when the tab open on slashdot was showing. Since it effects tabs on other sites it may be a security-related problem. Theme: grApple (Graphite) Extensions: FireFTP, OpenBook, Context Search, Search Keys, Link Toolbar, Foxylicious, Sort Bookmarks, Wayback, gCache, Search Status, xMirror, Web Developer, Weatherfox. SLASHDOT Style: Light.

Here's a page that reliably reproduces the bug on Firefox 1.0 release under Mac OS X 10.2.8. http://www.clanmacneil.ca/history2.htm
this is a known problem. keeping it private will not help anyone.

If it's known why is it still listed as UNCONFIRMED? :)
I'm seeing the same thing on using the National Weather Service loop of images (Radar and satelite) which calls up java applet. I don't see this issue with Windows version.
