Please change the word "Calendars" to "Subscriptions". You see, right now you
have both a "Calendar" and a "Calendars" next to each other, doing two different
things. The second tab should be renamed "Subscriptions", to avoid confusion and
to be more precise.

Changed summary. HW/OS -> All

Reporter,
I have also tried to think of a good label for the second tab, however I don't
think "Subscriptions" should be it.

Your local-only calendars will also be in that list, and "subscribing" to a
local calendar is not intuitive either.

I'm totally open to hear more suggestions. I agree that the tab names need to
change.
OS: Windows XP → All
Hardware: PC → All
Summary: Bad Usability on the Calendar → Rename "Calendars" tab
There might be times where a user might not want to enable a local calendar for
viewing/editing. So, unchecking its checkbox, is the equivelant of "subscribing"
to it.

Besides, 99% of the times, only one calendar will be local. The rest, will be
either company-wide, or through the internet. Therefore, the word
"Subscriptions" should work well for 99% of the times.
The enable/disable is something I hadn't thought of. Yet, you still haven't
convinced me. :)

Maybe we should attempt to change the label of the date picker instead?

>Maybe we should attempt to change the label of the date picker instead?

No. Generalizing, the word "Calendar" is closer etymologically to "time & date"
than to "pen notes on the calendar poster of Britney Spears". ;-)
So, the word Calendar should stay as is to describe the date, and the word
"Calendars" should change to something else. Invent a word if you have to. Just
like Homer Simpson invented the word "Du'h" and was later included in the
dictionary. ;-)

The current combo is very bad usability-wise. It confuses the user. Even if you
don't like the word "subscriptions", it's still worlds better than the current
combo, and so it should be changed for 0.2 at all costs IMHO.

MVL,
This is the simple patch that does what's requested for the English locale,
although I'm not sure if I really like the idea. I thought I'd let you decide
what to do with the bug.

Also, calendar.calendarlistbox.label isn't used anywhere:

Change 'Calendars'

We use 'add calendar' and wording like that all over the UI. So the tab should
be 'calendars', or we should change the wording all over.
The 'calendar' tab is the one to rename. (or to be moved somewhere else...)

Why not change the first tab to "Date". Since that is what it actually does. The
first tab chooses the date, whereas the second tab chooses the calendar.

This way, you could keep "Calendars" on the second tab.

Thanks to Andy for the suggestion. :-)
