This was reported by davinb@it.cmconsult.com.au on the layout nesgroup. I will attach the example mentioned. When the reported problem is fixed in quirks mode, please reassign the bug to me, because I see a different table problem in standard mode. Davin states: Could I please have a confirm from someone whether this is a bug, or simply another NS vs. IE rendering of W3C <TABLE> the bug(?) appears when a <TABLE> with parameters of CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0 and BORDER=0 The way I understand it, if I put a grid of identically sized images together in a cell each the images should all meet, and they do Until one of the cells is an anchor around the image eg <A HREF="blah.html"><IMG SRC="image.png" BORDER=0></A> then we get top and bottom spaces on the IMG (not always a consistent space either) for an example of this, I've set up a page at http://youhave.to/test_tableahref.html to show the effect. Is this a bug, am I crazy(for thinking it is, no other reasons)? Davin
I think this is similar to bug 15933, which was just reopened from DUPLICATE since my fix for bug 15428 did not fix bug 15933. I'll try to look at it tomorrow.
does this have anything to do with troy's change for making the table cell a margin root? I doubt it, but thought I'd mention that change here just in case.
unless I hear that this is effecting some important web site, it'll have to wait until after beta1
Target Milestone: M16
This sounds exactly like Bug 5821 wich I just reopened due to a very similar (same?) pronlem, could someone check if it's a dup?
