User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050406 Firefox/1.0.2 (Debian package 1.0.2-3) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050406 Firefox/1.0.2 (Debian package 1.0.2-3) When I attempt to view the "IE7" home page Firefox crashes. It seems to almost finish loading the page before crashing, but it crashes every time. It did not crash using a copy of the page saved locally by Opera. The only error message when I run Firefox from a console is "Segmentation fault". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/ 2. Wait for it to almost finish loading the page. 3. Watch it crash. :-( Actual Results: Firefox crashed (Segmentation fault) Expected Results: Not crash, display the page. If it made me a coffee I'd be ecstatic, but that might be asking a little much. I also tried it on a "vanilla" install (no extensions, themes, etc.) with the same result

Reporter: Please provide a talkback ID from a recent Mozilla.org trunk (!) build with talkback included.

Matti: Is a "trunk build" just default build from mozilla.org?

FF1.0.3 is from the old Firefox 1.0 branch. This branch is very old. You can find a current nightly trunk developer build here : ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk

Thanks for the info. I tried it with version 1.0.3 from the home page and the crash did not occur. I'll try with a trunk build as well. In the meantime I've attempted to file a bug report in the Debian BTS (I'm not sure if it worked or not - it's my first try).

The trunk build also worked fine. It may just be a problem with the Debian build. I've filed bug #306079 in Debian's BTS (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=306079).

Looks like this was actually a dupe of 288818. Reopening so I can close it with the proper resolution (in case anyone comes across this bug in the future).
