Using the CSS rule "display: hidden" doesn't work as a technique to remove
a menuitem on the Mac. So we tried removing the DOM node, which does remove
the associated node, but not the actual Mac menuitem. When you click on the 
item, it crashes because there is no longer an XP menu!
