Thunderbird should have roaming capability. This bug is the Thunderbird version
of bug 124029 for the Mozilla Suite (fixed by Ben Bucksch one year ago). There
is also a Firefox bug: bug 249343.

Since these are "core" bugs, I'm wondering if there should be a *generic* core
roaming bug to get basic and consisten roaming functionality for all mozilla
products?

Yes, bug 249343 would most likely fix this, too, no diff between toolkit apps as far as roaming is concerned and I can see.

This bug is filed in a bugzilla component related to pre-Firefox code which no longer exists. I believe it is no longer relevant and I am therefore closing it INCOMPLETE.

If you believe that this bug is still valid and needs to be fixed, please reopen it and move it to the Toolkit:Startup and Profile System product/component.
