On my computer I accedentally pasted a very long string containing just uppercase A's (don't think this matters) into the location bar, this resulted in that X crashed. I do not, as of yet, know why this happened. But it seems like Firefox is doing something it shouldn't be doing. The page I have accompanied the with this report crasches my X right after I have clicked the Ok button on the alert dialog. Don't know if this bug affects windows users aswell, but it seems like it could be the case.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter a very long string into the address field, in my case 40 000 characters seems to suffice.

Actual Results:  
Well as explained in the summary X crashes

Expected Results:  
Well, I should have expected firefox to do something other than crashing. Perhaps alert the user that this URL seems horribly wrong.

Since X crashed I have no idea why it crashed. It seems my friends firefox 1.5-b2 is not affected. I'm currently using gentoo, and here are my versions of software that might be associated with this bug:

Dupe of bug 167315? because of the default "I'm feeling lucky" search I get a Google page with the very long string (the search term) as the title.
