User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1

Mozilla has a "Quality Feedback Agent" which is apparently supposed to transmit problem reports. Either manual or automatic sending of these reports always results in failure with a window containing a "progress bar" which never completes.

The window is titled "Sending Status" and contains the following lines:

"Status: connecting"
"Sending incident 1 of 1"

The "problem" can easily be "solved" for the user by turning off the QFA, but this doesn't do much good in terms of actual reporting.

I notice over 200 hits on this problem in the "Bug Search" results, so it could be that the developers already have enough to do and have eliminated reporting feedback from users, but it gives an "unprofessional" appearance and result from the Mozilla application, and could cause some users to feel that their feedback is not needed or ignored.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Mozilla
2. Have the "Quality Feedback Agent" attempt to send a report.

Actual Results:
"Sending" window appears but task does not complete. Last night, I went out to dinner and came back 3-1/2 hours later to find the "Sending Status" window still open, so time is not an issue.

Expected Results:
Completion of transmission, closing of the "send" window, appropriate confirmation.

Have tried reporting many times, over a time period of around four weeks.

This is a well known issue and there is nothing we can currently do, since we do not have access to the source code for the Mozilla Quality Feedback Agent (Talkback). It is well documented in various bugs, but I have been trying to keep everything in one place. Please see the first item in the Talkback FAQ: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Mozilla_QA_Community:Talkback:FAQ
