Details
Solaris 8 adds a new interface, /dev/poll, which is a more scalable alternative to poll(). See the poll(7d) man page (man -s 7d poll) for information on how to use the /dev/poll API. I'd like to look into using /dev/poll and i/o continuation threads to implement our blocking I/O on Solaris 8.
