Details

1.) Visit www.yahoo.com and click on a link.
2.) Click on the back button, or restart Mozilla and return to www.yahoo.com.

What happens: The link is the same color.
OK, verified with 070508 mozilla build on NT (bug 20542 looks the same)

same here.
linux: build 71020.
rm -rf ~/.mozilla
start mozilla
visit www.kernelnotes.org
click linux-kernel Mailing List Archives
click week 2
click some messages
when going back or restarting mozilla the visited messages and the linux-kernel
Mailing List Archives link have a diffent color. But ... the week 2 link has
not....
The page where the links do not change color is
http://kernelnotes.org/lnxlists/linux-kernel/
Global History . Over to waterson

This looks like it has to do with storing redirects or something. If you mouse
over a link in yahoo, you'll see that the URL it says it's going to send you to
is distinctly different from the URL that it actually sends you to. Radha, since
this has to do with the URLs that webshell et. al. are storing in global
history, I'm reassigning back to you. You probably should make sure that you
store both the original and the redirected link.

I don't think this is related to redirection. Browse around to any site i.e.
http://www.kernelnotes.org/ or http://www.mozilla.org/ and you will notice that
links aren't changing colors anywhere.

Tested on Linux 2000072709 M18 and Linux 2000072608 M17.
this bug got morphed into "SH and redirects don't play well together" and should probably be resummarized as such. Then it'll get
duped (bug 41973).
jwbaker's last comment reminds me of a recurring History problem that has been popping up on occasion for several months now.
I bet if you look at Tasks|Tools|History it's completely empty.
I bet if you remove your .mozilla/ directory (or some subset which includes history.dat) that your problem will go away.
I can't find the stupid bug tracking that issue...
Claudius is correct. Removing ~/.mozilla fixed the link color problem.
This seems to be redirection related.. Marking as dupe of 41973
