User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121622 Ubuntu/8.10 (intrepid) Firefox/3.0.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20081210 Shredder/3.0b1

I have Shredder set to open and be moved to desktop 4 on login (on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10). If it is still running when I press logout or shutdown, I get a prompt that tells me "thunderbird-bin is still running". I am able to "cancel" or "logout anyway". If I chooses the latter option, the computer turns off normally. I have recently re-installed Ubuntu, I had the problem before, and I still have it now.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Shredder.
2. Click "Log Out" or "Shutdown"
3.
Actual Results:
Prompted that "thunderbird-bin" is still running. Need to close the prompt by clicking "Logout anyway"

Expected Results:
The computer should logout or shutdown with no prompts.
Sean can you try to figure out which build started to behave that way ? Do you have the same issue with FireFox ?

I am using the version from the Mozilla PPA, the current version on there (the one I am using now) and the previous version (the version that was on there when I first installed it) both had the problem. I am not sure what version that was. Also, this doesn't happen with Thunderbird 2.x. I don't get the same problem with Firefox, just Shredder/Thunderbird 3.
I don't see this issue at all using the Test Day nightly from Fedora: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:QA_TestDay:2009-05-14

Using GNOME on Fedora 11, I was able to log out as expected. I did not try shutdown.
Sean are you still having the issue.
I works for me on openSuse.
Actually, since I moved to Jaunty (Ubuntu 9.04) I moved to using Evolution.

I'll download the latest build of Shredder and see if it still happens.
There are daily thunderbird-3.0 packages available here: https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/ppa

Can you reproduce this using those packages?
I've tested the daily build. The problem doesn't seem to exist anymore. Not sure what it was, but it's gone. Shredder is looking better than the last time I used it, keep up the good work.

Just a question: Will it be possible to have Thunderbird 3 integrate with the Clock (in the system tray) in GNOME? (i.e. Evolution will show me my upcoming appointments on the calendar that appears by clicking on the Clock).
