Platforms and Builds:
Windows (Build: 2000-09-03-09-M18) and Linux (Build: 2000-09-03-08-M18)
1. Go to 'Edit' and open 'Preferences'.
2. Go to 'Appearances, select 'Themes', and then select 'Classic'.
4. Repeat step #1.
5. Go to 'Appearances, select 'Fonts', and select font sizes under
'Varialbe-width fonts' and Fixed-width fonts'.
NOTE: The font sizes do not display on the font dialog box. However,
it works fine with Modern skin. This problem happens in Windows and
Linux only.

I get one font size box, for variable width... but i cant see the box for fixed
width font. forcing the prefs window to a larger size doesnt help.
confirmed (somewhat) on todays linux

Summary: Classic skin only --Font sizes do not display on the font dialog box → Classic skin only --Font sizes do not display on the font dialog box
Marking nsbeta3- because this was not a P1 or P2 bug.

Quite strangely, if you go to Fonts, then go to another pref, then return to
Fonts, the font size list will be there. I guess that's what you'd call a
workaround. ;)

This bug also affects the "Mail and Newsgroups" pane in the prefs. On the first
visit to this pane with the Classic skin, the layout is fully fux0red. Upon
visiting another pane and returning, the layout is as expected.

bug 67120 may be a duplicate of this (now that modern is also using system fonts).

After updating my tree on Linux, this is now working for me. Woohoo!

I'm still seeing Jeffrey Baker's reported symptoms on the 0.8 candidate from
today - horked "mail/news start page" text box. Unless that is a different bug,
this one isn't fixed.

Yes, the preferences display is always horked the first time. Most noticable on
the fonts and mail/news prefs panels.

Sadly, I've seen it again too. :(

This isn't a themes problem, things randomly not rendering is a frequent symptom
on Linux, and I have to attribute it to Layout.

What I see is that intial layout of the Fonts panel, combobox is too wide, while
the veriable font combox boxes are shortened but not the Fixed width, hence the
size combox box is drawn too far to the right means outside the dialog.
We name to set the same behavior for fixed with font combobox.

I'm not seeing any problems with today's build on Linux. After setting the theme
to classic I am able to select a font size for both the variable and fixed with
fonts. It also works when I switch back to modern.
Marking WORKSFORME.

Doesn't work here on 2001-04-17-09 (Linux, gcc 2.95). Are you sure you
reproduced the bug properly? The layout is always OK the *second* time you look
at it, but the first time it is always missing the fixed-width font widget.
Still true on latest build, reopening.

I can not reproduce this with 2001042920 build on WINNT or with the same build
on Linux.
In both cases I exited Mozilla, changed the theme from modern to classic then
opened the font preference panel. The font sizes display properly for me.
Marking WORKSFORME again.

Look, I hate to be an ass, but this does not work.
1) Use the classic theme
2) Quit the browser
3) Launch the browser
4) Edit -> Preferences -> Fonts

Tested with 2001-04-30-14 Linux trunk build.

Reproduced in Mac Classic, build 2001051504, Mac OS 9.1, --> All/All.
Someone should grab the XUL involved and attach it to this bug as a testcase,
because this particular symptom of the bug is about to disappear with the fix
for bug 28899.

Ah, what to do about this bug? The symptom is gone because the font prefs panel
is completely changed. The new one of course works fine in the classic skin.
The old bug was likely to have been a problem with the font prefs XUL. Might
mark this one WONTFIX.
