RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 259356

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20091007 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20091007 Ubuntu/9.10

There is a huge need to have a separation between user-data and user-preferences. For example, when I back up my mozilla config files, I want my preferences and bookmarks - but not my Cache directory.

This will also have the added advantage of a less cluttered home directory.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
A .mozilla file folder contains all user preferences as well as cache directories.

Expected Results:
store .mozilla folder in the $XDG_CONFIG_HOME directory and the Cache directory in $XDG_DATA_HOME directory
