When going to http://www.deja.com/usenet/ , the comnplete from for searching in
news doesn't display right, in Netscape 4.7x I can see the form input, the
search buton this text (search <recent> discussions in the <standard> archive.)
and two drop down in this text (show in text with these<>), then when I type two
letter, the latter text and the drop down suddenly display, but when I type more
then 3 letters, the input field, the search buton and the later text (and
truncate this uppear part of the page) suddenly dissapear and the text that I
type just display in the current page (below BROWSE DISCUSSIONS and before
alt.), by erasing my text I get the full form back, if I type it again it begin
again, but this time the text is displayed lower in the page.
An other strange things, is that while I'm on the page, I alway's get sending
and connect text in the status bar even if the stop buton is no more active, by
clicking on it it seens to stop the sending and connecting request.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go at http://www.deja.com/usenet/
2.type something in the Search Discussions (2, 3 letter don't use the send
bouton)
3.erase your text and do it again
Actual Results: the page truncate and the text that you are typing display
below in the current page
Expected Results: just display all the form and let the current text display in
the input field.
Linux 2.2.16 on Red Hat 6.2, P800 mhz, nvidia geforce (not the last driver),
128mb ram.
I don't have any problem on this page running Netscape 4.75, the bug has been
testing using the modern skin, it's the samething with the classic skin. Maybe
it's a HTML related problem or CSS. Maybe it's Mozilla or deja.com problem, I
don't know, but I still doesn't have any problem with it in netscape.

By typing the text very slowly it doesn't do it, it's like if everytime that you
type something it re-render all the page (scrollbars disappear and then
reappear), but if you type faster then the time that it took to render it
again,then it truncate the page

I can't find the original bug, but I believe that this is a a) a duplicate and
b) it has been fixed. Francis- can you still duplicate this behavior on this
page or any other? If you can, please post to the bug and I'll re-open.
Otherwise, I believe that this has been fixed, so I'm marking Works For Me.

With M18 (2000101015, even a little before him),
it doesn't happen anymore (the text doesn't show in the current page).
But, it's maybe not relevant, but when you enter 3 letter, the table just go
down a little, maybe 1 millimeter. I isolate the html code for this, it's a
table in a table and then you have the form in the middle, by getting out the
first table it work OK, but with the two table in, it do the little move, all
the form is going down. By looking at the HTML, it didn't look to have any error
in it, so I decided to test it in a w3c html validator and nothing major was found.
So maybe it is a little UI bug.
I will attach the html code and the result of the html validation.

Francis-
I did notice that slight reflow issue. However, that is a duplicate of other
bugs (I believe that bug 39209 is the most relevant, but you may find others if
you look.) I'm going to leave this bug as closed (since the original bug is
fixed) and I urge you to either refile the additional stuff as a new bug (the
correct procedure, if it is different from 39209 and that family of bugs) or to
add this description to 39209 or whatever other bug seems more relevant. Sorry
that there is no easy way to transfer this information over, but it is the best
way to handle it. Thanks again for helping out.
