Using 2000092808 beta3 branch verifcation build:

Open Nav window
type 'aka.mcom.com' into URL bar
crash in PSM

happened twice today, will try to reproduce after filing this.
Reproduced again, this time typing the full https://aka.mcom.com.
psm.exe crashes (illegal operation), browser hangs for a minute or so, then is
usable again.
Build 2000092808 on US Win95 fails for me too.
For netscapers, try searching the phoneboo at pb.mcom.com
Outsiders can reproduce by trying to pop up the Schwab login (account not needed
to access the page). Go to www.schwabon.com and click on the "Trade Now" link.

The PSM error dialog looks something like:
   Psm
This program has performed an illegal operation [Close]
   and will be shutdown.

If the problem persists, contact the program
   vendor.
                                                [Details>>]
Worksforme on Win98 with MN6 92908. Try the test again with a new profile.
Still crashes for me using new default profile on 92908 on Win98.
nominating for dogfood. 100% crash (for me, works for some others), no workaround.
Keywords: dogfood
Seems to be a problem on commercial builds only. Moz branch bits are okay. cc
dveditz
Also crashes on <https://digitalid.verisign.com>, which is part of the smoketest
(passed for official N6 smoketester).
let me ask around a bit at the QA engineers who have Win98 to try on today's
commercial release Win32 build.
Deleting the PSM directory and reinstalling seems to be a workaround. Adding
relnote3 keyword, removing dogfood.

I tried it to on win98 with the today's build and I could access aka just fine.
Now do you have the AOL cert in your db. If not it will revert to basic auth and
that could crash PSM , there is a separate bug repor for that.
Marking worksforme.

Reopening, wfm is not a valid resolution. There is a real defect here, probably
caused by install not clearing out the old directory.

This works for me on win98 using 2000-09-29 branch. At first aka.mcom.com
wouldn't load (didn't crash though). I Stopped the process and tried
pb.mcom.com. it asked me for a cert password, I gave one and it loaded. Then
aka.mcom.com was able to load.
When was the last time you deleted your PSM directory? I just kept installing,
and it started crashing today.
Still happens with today's commercial branch build 2000092908 on US Win95:
ftp://sweetlou.mcom.com/products/client/6.0x/windows/32bit/x86/2000-09-29-09-MN6/

I haven't tried deleting my PSM directory yet. What should I delete?
Everything under:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Netscape Shared\Security\
or just
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Netscape Shared\Security\psmdata\
I forgot to add, I created a new profile too.
I did not try the 27th build, but I believe PSM worked for me with the
commercial branch 9/26 build:
ftp://sweetlou.mcom.com/products/client/6.0x/windows/32bit/x86/2000-09-26-09-MN6/
For a clean install, delete the ..\security folder.
Installer should do that, if required.
Resolved workforme, since https sites do not crash the browser on a clean
install. Opening bug 54902 - Win-Installer does not delete PSM files.
Adding release note - "Win-Before installing PR3, search your drives for
psm.exe, and delete the folder that it resides in, and its subfolders."

If I have a previous NS6 install, how do I get back to a "clean install" state?
If I do an uninstall of PR2, will it wipe out the PSM files in the common
directory?
  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Netscape Shared\Security\

That seems bad, unless PSM is never meant to be really shared...

Confirmed that by deleting (actually renaming in my case)
 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Netscape Shared\Security\

and reinstalling 9/30 commercial branch
 ftp://sweetlou/products/client/6.0x/windows/32bit/x86/2000-09-29-09-MN6/

PSM now works. I tried pb.mcom.com and www.schwabon.com.
Verified.
