Firefox doesn't rewind a loopless animated GIF when a page containing the GIF is revisited. It even doesn't rewind the GIF animation when page content is refreshed (standard [F5], not full refresh [CTRL+F5]).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Load the GIF addressed in above URL. It contains 5 frames which are only played once.

Actual Results:

The animation is only played once. Re-entering above URL or hitting refresh doesn't rewind animation playback.

Expected Results:

The animation should rewind when a resource is revisited/refreshed.
Well, ctrl+f5 works fine for me. It doesn't replay with just a refresh though.

Right, I haven't been clear on this distinction in my statement.

But no-one should feel impelled to hit <CTRL>+<F5> everytime he/she visits the page.
I'm almost certain that this is a dupe, but I can't find it right now.
Duplicate of core bug 129986?
Yep! Thanks :)
