WAIS was supported in the NS4 browser. I did a search on in bugzilla and found about 7 references in the bug tracker. None of them about WAIS support, two are about deleting WAIS proxy preferences from the UI, and 3 are mispellings of words like "wasted" and "always" (I'm not kidding!). This bug is being created for neatness, I don't anticipate anyone will ever go back to this, and I've asked for the Proxy preferences to be deleted in bug 16739.
Marking NEW. Maybe someone will look at it and write the support. In the mean time we need it off our Unconfirmed list.

If nobody is going to pick it up at a milestone, how do we get it noted in the relnotes as unsupported?
