Definitely a bug
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
PLease mark this as invalid!
Looks like we are off by a pixel when drawing some images.
This problem has the same root cause as:

http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97861

It is due to rounding errors caused by the DPI value 1/15 although the fix in
97861 does not fix this problem.

I am still investigating to figure out what is causing this one.
I've narrowed this down. Here is the URL:

http://www.kaply.com/work/center.html

It appears to be a rounding error related to the use of the <center> tag.

I've send a note to a layout folk to get some help.

I see vertical white stripes as well with 0.9.9 on Win2000 (with OS Large fonts
= 120 DPI).

I also ran this with a patched 0.9.8 (the patch which fixes Bug 83289) and the
results are the same. In other words, this bug does not appear to be resolved by
the fix for 83289.
OK, we now know this is XP. I'm marking it major and moving to layout.

Sorry Marc.

If you could point me the the centering code, I could try to find the off by one
error.

Summary: OS/2 - vertical empty lines on some pages → vertical empty lines when images are centered
It has very interesting behaviour. The initial rendering has the vertical
stripes. Once the screen gets refreshed (e.g. minimize / maximize, or put
another window in front and switch back) the lines are gone.... except mouseover
will cause the one on the left edge of the middle white circle to reappear.
Also, if it loads from cache it seems okay, but a "Reload" page will cause it
again. Hope this info helps narrow it down.

I will attach what it looks like for me upon initial (bad) rendering on Win2K.

This is what it looks like for me upon first load.

This seems to work for me now using 1.0rc3 when I load the original url
http://www.mtelecom.ru

This is on Win2000 (1280x1024 with OS Large fonts = 120dpi)

Either that page has changed, or something was fixed in Mozilla which corrects
this. Anyone else notice this?
Using V1.2Beta on Win2K--- works for me. Can some either reproduce this are
change the status of this bug (I dont have privileges to do so).
ack... comment# 11 should have read:
"...can someone either reproduce this or change the status of the bug..."

sorry for the spam.
Still a problem on OS/2 20021021 build (1.2b)
worksforme moz2003040308/win98
can anyone still reproduce this bug?
I believe this has been working on Windows for some time (see my old comments).
It is fine on 1.4a under Win2K. It may either be fixed, or perhaps it has
evolved to being an OS/2 specific issue. If the former is true, lets close it.
If the latter is true, lets change the OS field of this bug.
This is working now on OS/2 as well. Hurrah.
