Details
(Thanks Laurel for pointing this out)
Build:
PPC May 14 Seamonkey build (1999051408-m6) installed on PPC 8500/150 OS 8.5.1
Linux May 14 Seamonkey build (1999051408-m6) installed on Rh5.2
Win32 May 14 seamonkey build (1999051408-m6) installed on Win 98
Problem:
In a message composition window, you can type into message body but you lose
the ability to type if you try selecting any of the tools in the HTML rich text
toolbar.
Work around:
Highlight some at least one character and you will be able to type again.
Steps to reproduce problem:
1) Launch apprunner
2) Start Messenger from the Task menu
3) Start a new message
4) Click in the message body and type a few characters
5) Select a tool off the HTML toolbar
(don't highlight any text)
6) Try to type some more text
You should see that you can't type anymore
I tried the 1999-05-17 Linux and Mac build's editor (not mail compose) and it
has the same problem (following pmock's steps). (Didn't try win32, but I
believe the problem to be there too.)
Changing QA Contact to sujay and cc: kostello on this bug (if you want to take
it over from ducarroz).

This is yet another instance of focus related bugs. Until we get a solution from
the XPToolkit team, let's limit these types of bugs. Neither Jean-Francois nor
the Editor team will know who needs to do what until we have a solution for the
focus problem.

I have set the TM for M7. I hope we solve the focus problem for M7 else I would have to push it to next milestone...
Another work around: highlighting text and de-selecting text. You don't have to
type over/replace text.
Side note: so far in the Mac May 24 seamonkey build (1999052408-m6) build, I
can successful create and send messages that have,
- bold attribute
- italic attribute
- underline attribute
- bullet list (has focus problem)
- number list (has focus problem)

Focus problem seems has been solved. Cannot reproduce the problem anymore.
I'm trying to verify this one. Can someone clarify what is meant by step 5)
in the original bug report? thanks!
5) Select a tool off the HTML toolbar
(don't highlight any text)

That means you must click on one of the icon in the edition toolbar that let you change the style of the text.

fyi
Ok in the Commercial 1999-07-07-08 build on Win32, PPC, and Linux. I was not
able to reproduce this problem in a HTML compose window. It look fine now in
mail compose.
