1. Go to http://www.mazdausa.com
2. Receive error message from web server:
The Mazdausa.com site has not been optimized for use with Netscape 6.
We apologize for the inconvenience, however Netscape 6 does not currently support

This site uses layer related functions.
We should recommend alternatives.

Not only do they completely block us now, but they don't even do it correctly.
The redirect recursively when they detect the mozilla browser, resulting in an
error message being displayed (recursion limit exceeded). As Aillon said, see
bug 117150 for more details.

Using Mozilla 1.1-release I see:
"WELCOME TO MAZDAUSA.COM
MazdaUSA.com is optimized for Internet Explorer versions 4.x and 5.x and
Netscape 4.x. To experience the most from this site you can download Internet
Explorer or Netscape."
Using uabar to spoof "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 98)" the page
at least renders (somewhat), but the main graphic appears under the left
sidebar and mouseover menus don't work properly in the left sidebar, and it's
not immediately clear to me why not...

The site is not currently Mozilla compatible and they are working on it. No need
to comment on their current code.

They seem to have missed their target by more than a quarter. Too bad I already
own a Mazda, otherwise I could claim I'm postponing my purchase until they fix
their web site...anyway, can the target milestone be updated?

I've talked to David Mathews at Mazda USA. He tells me last summer, they fired
the consulting firm that did the website, based partly on the fact that it
doesn't work with Mozilla. Since then, they hired one that knows how to code
better, and are the process of refactoring it. They have started with the new
models pages, and new sections (done in JSP, with Moz-friendly javascript and/or
some flash)
Their Performance corner:
http://www.mazdausa.com/mazdaspeed/
And then to the RX-8
http://www.mazdausa.com/rx8
(that actually is forwarded over to their new platform)
I was told beta testing would start this month, with the rollout sometime after
that.
This bug could be closed after that.

Looks like we can close this bug. The mazdausa.com site has been updated, and
put on a new archetecture. I think IBM had a hand in making the move over to
their new platform.
The only problem I now see seems to be the Flash animation on the page.
NS 1.3b: Initially white. Right-click, play works.
IE6: Initially Mazda logo. Right-click, play does not work.
Anyway, that is a different bug so marking this as fixed. Thanks everyone!
