When opening an ftp:// URL, a tooltip "Directory Contents" is attached to the
whole display area. This is unhelpful at best.

i've seen this too, and on winNT and Mac as well. confirming.

somebody thought it was important enough to add.... but I tend to agree. It is
like having a tooltip that says "Desktop" for the window manager's desktop
space.

no longer see the tooltip [checked both html dirview, as well as the older
treeview ftp listing]. vrfy fixed on the three main platforms using
2001.06.21.xx comm bits.
