This URI is invalid. '#' must be escaped. Try ftp://%23mozilla:browser@234.123.15.18 instead. I get "connection refused" if I try it. Does this login exist?
Summary: Can not connect to a ftp server when the user name contains a # character → Can not connect to a ftp server when the user name contains a # character

Marking INVALID. The escaped characters work. We do not nor should we handle non-escaped characters..for various reasons including security.
