Problem in Mozilla 0.9. The valid XHTML image at the bottom right corner of the page referenced shows a grey line in the bottom right hand corner of the image (an area that should be transparent) upon first loading the page. However, any screen repaint and the problem disappears. Moving the mouse over the image also makes the problem go away.
Reproducible by restarting Mozilla and going back to site. The problem doesn't reappear if the page is reloaded or if you move backward and forward in the history. I was unable to reproduce this problem outside of the referenced page by loading the image itself or a minimal HTML page. Screenshot of image and image itself coming as attachments.
Possible duplicate of http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73972, though problem is a vertical, not horizontal line.

The little XHTML icon is a PNG file, not a GIF.

No... it's a GIF. Using Image Properties in Opera, it shows as a GIF. Additionally, ACDSee shows it as a GIF. I had to rename it, as there is no file extension on the web site. I thought it was a PNG at first also, but Paint Shop Pro wouldn't recognize it as a PNG. It would recognize it as a GIF.

Pav, this might be a problem with GIF throttling, but it may also be another
initial corruption issue.

Hrm, can't seem to reproduce this anymore. tor will also be checking in a patch
that kills off more rendering issues.

No no no no... hold it...
I am still seeing it on Win32 build 2001060420.
Load the URL and don't go away...
Stare at the lower right hand corner and you'll see that grey line sticking out
of the "XHTML 1.0" icon.
Reopening this bug. It's not yet gone.

Saari: I am on Win98.

I'm not sure if this also stems from these problems, but here is a website which
Mozilla doesn't render properly on (at least) win NT (i.e. the scenery-gif with
transparency combined with the moving layer upon it):
http://www.stem.se/hus
It looks ok in IE4, IE5, NS4 and NS6. I'd say that makes it a rather major bug..?

Lots of pages with transparent gifs looks ugly becasue of transparency
problems. Not all, though, but see e.g. www.soundblaster.com and
animated 'spotlight' banner.
This started to be _major_ bug.

The GIF http://www.soundblaster.com/images/spotanimate2.gif seems to be OK now,
(tested on Win32 build 2001061807), probably due to the fix of bug 77914.
But the problem filed by this bug (concerning the graphics of
http://validator.w3.org/) still exists.
