Build 1999061708M7 on Win32/NT4 and Mac 8.5.1 Unable to try Linux at this time. Moving or copying a message does not work with IMAP. Both work with POP. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Messenger using an IMAP account. 2. Select a message from the Inbox. 3. Select Message/Move and choose any folder (i.e. FolderA). 4. Select FolderA in the folder pane and the message is not there. 5. Go back to the Inbox and the message remains in the Inbox. Note: The same results occur when selecting Message/Copy for step 3. Tried restarting the application but it made no difference.

reassigning to mscott.
When verifying this bug, need to make sure that deleting a message from an IMAP account will move that message to the Trash folder.
Linux and Win32(1999-06-25-08 m8). Mac (1999-06-25-10 m8) IMAP: Delete works on all three platforms and the deleted message are moved to the Trash folder.

Hey uber copy service man! Feel like taking a whack at copy and moving imap messages? Adding jefft to the cc list in case he wants it...

"uber" is a reserved word known only among the developers..it's a private thing passed down through the years... translation = "we have great QA".... or it goes something like that =) uber = all encompassing...jefft is working on an all-encompassing, end-all copy service. I was hoping uber would make it into the class interface name for this service =).

Fixed checked in. Currently, you can only move/copy message(s) within the same imap host server. Undo move/copy/delete messages also implemented. However, undo might suffer message header updating problem.
Depends on: 8114
Summary: Message/Move and Copy not working with IMAP → [PP] Message/Move and Copy not working with IMAP

Using 1999-07-12-18: NT 4.0: Copy OK, Move OK, multiple or single selection within same IMAP server. Deleted message moved to IMAP trash. Mac OS 8.51: Copy OK, Move OK, multiple or single selection within same IMAP server. Deleted message moved to IMAP trash. Linux rh5.2: Copy or Move not working due to bug #8114. Deleted Message moved to IMAP trash OK.

Actually, I'm not sure if it's really #8114 or #8706 which will ultimately cure this problem. In any case, I'll check it again in M9 (having #8706 fixed) and if that doesn't help we're left with dependency on 8114.

Win32 (1999-08-13-09 M9), Linux (1999-08-13-08 M9) and Mac (1999-08-13-08 M9) POP/IMAP: Moving/copying message works fine.
