Using Moz 0.9.1 on W2K,

When you choose to search messages in the sent folder (either on IMAP or
locally), the list of available fields to search by does not include "Recipient"
- rather it shows "Sender" (which is pointless because I am, by definition, the
sender of every message in my Sent folder!).

In the main Mail window, the list of messages correctly adapts to the sent
folder by showing recipient rather than sender. It seems to me that the search
function should also reflect the fact that it is the sent folder that is being
searched and should replace "Sender" with "Recipient" when necessary.

I don't see how this is RTM material.
It's been that way in 4.x (not that that's the end-all criteria).
And, for clarification: Are you talking about display columns in the results
pane or search criteria (in the dropdown list)?
I was discussing the criteria in the drop down list. I don't think it is as
much concer if it is in the result set list. As I mentioned earlier, I know I am
the sender of every message in the Sent folder, however I often want to search
by recipient. It is a real pain to not be able to do this in the search window.

No not always. This is a lost function not a potential enhancement! (Solaris 8
user) In 4.7 this task is possible because there is a "customize headers" in the
popup menu for the search. Customazation should be an option on all header
selectors, including the view pane. The view pane header selector is also too
restrictive in the "sent" box (with another bug - 'recipient' labeled but
'sender' is displayed).
Quick Search allows this in latest trunk builds. and you also have customize
headers in the trunk builds.

Yes, being able to customize the header query field is nice. The system now
does return a valid result for a query based on who the message as sent to...

*However*, in the result set list, there is no option to display "To:" or
"Recipient". This is where the current problem lies. One is unable to
differenctiate between items in the result set list based on who it was sent to.
They all simply show who sent the message.

For instace, I could be looking for e-mail I sent to 3 different people. The
query would accurately return the list of all e-mail sent, however I would have
now way of know which was sent to whom and would have to guess based on the
subject line.

I guess due to bug 36492's fix (1.4? 1.5?), you can now display columns for
Recipient, Sender or both in the Search Results window.

Shawn Neumann, is that sufficient to mark this bug Resolved|WorksForMe?
Yes - this looks great. Sorry I haven't checked this bug in a while, but it
looks fixed to me.
