8973 - Regression: Changing status in 3 pane doesn't work

Win32 (1999-06-28-08 m8)
1. Select an unread message from the Inbox of the POP server
2. the mail message bold text goes away and displays, but status does not change
to "Read"
3. Use Mark|As Read, nothing happens
4. Close messager, and re-open Message, now status changes to "Read"
Expected result: In POP, as soon the selected message is displayed, it should
change status to "Read"
This happens to Win_nt 4.0 too.
Mac has not been tested yet

I'm reopening this since it looks like this is my fault.  I'd imagine that this
bug happens on more than just pop.  It should happen on IMAP and news (assuming
they've implemented this feature).  I'm changing the summary to reflect the fact
this this affects all change of status (marking read/unread, as well as
displaying a message and having the status change.)

I'm pretty sure I fixed my end of this.  I'm marking this fixed.  But you won't
be able to prove it until 8467 gets fixed.

When I select an unread message from the Inbox of the POP server, the bold text
goes away.  And in the Status column, I see 3 dots ("..."). But I do not see the
Read status until I resize the window. Therefore, I would not mark this Verified
until 8467 is fixed.

When I select an unread message from the Inbox of the POP server, the bold text
goes away. And the Status column shows "Read" status immediately. I do not see
the "..." any more.  Mark this verified even though bug 8467 is not fixed
because everything as described in the original report now works fine.
