This problem has been filed on Japanese BugZilla,
http://bugzilla.mozilla.gr.jp/show_bug.cgi?id=1095
When the over-the-spot mode, status window of kinput2
(japanese IME) disappears after selection on candidate window.
Here is the step how to rerproduce the problem.
1. modify your prefs.js to switch input mode to over-the-spot
user_pref("xim.input_style", "over-the-spot");
2. start Mozilla
3. start composer
4. turn conversion on (usually by Shift+SPACE)
Now you can see the status window just below the input cursor
5. type 'a' and invoke candidate window (usually by SPACE,SPACE, or
CTRL+W)
6. just type return
the candidate will be committed
but the status window disappears
The priority of this bug would not be high because over-the-spot
mode is not the default.

Are there any drawbacks to making activating over-the-spot in Mozilla? All the other
web browsers have it by default, and for a year I've been trying to figure out why
kinput2 wouldn't work properly with Mozilla. Now I know about this prefs.js option.
Can over-the-spot be made default in Mozilla?
