Ok, maybe we will make M12.  I have a lot of code checked in that starts fixing
this.  Pavlov is working on some other portions from what I checked in.

This is beta.  I've been working hard on this and have got a partial
implementation done.

I agree, we need this infrastructure working on Linux for beta1. Mail/News and 
Editor are expecting some D&D working for beta1, even if D&D is not expected to 
be working everywhere. If this work isn't done for beta1, there will be platform 
parity issues that may require other platform-specific work to avoid crashes.

I can't seem to actually drag and drop anything in today's build, although I do
get some drop feedback.  What is it that works?

What are you trying to drag and drop?
Mail messages & folders, bookmarks & folders, URL bar proxy icon, links, text,
toolbars.  What is working for you?

I can drag the little tag in the url bar from one mozilla window to another and
get the other window to load the page.  Bookmarks seem to be screwed up because
of a javascript error that doesn't look like it is DND related.  I'm getting
drag feedback in mail but the drop doesn't seem to be actually happening and I'm
not sure why.
I've opened bug #27295 against myself.  Peter, you might want to consider this
for beta1 or PDT.
