Steps to reproduce:

1. Use a new firefox profile.
2. Spin up a SOCK5 proxy locally (ssh -D 8080 server).
3. Setup firefox network setting with SOCK5 proxy of 127.0.0.1 8080.
4. Browse to any domain name (may need to do it to two tabs).
5. Firefox becomes unresponsive and CPU usage is 100%.

Bonus: Same thing also happens if the FoxyProxy addon is used.
