Using 78.3.2
Tested: Hover over delete icon on a non selected or selected/highlighted email in list does not do anything,
eg: no tooltip warning, nothing is highlighted as if selected, trash can does not change colour to eg: orange as if warning what could happen. 

Accidental deletion is so easy. At the moment, the deleteCol icon appears as if it is a greyed out icon and 'greyed out' usually means not selectable or similar.

I would like to suggest for serious consideration....Please could that deleteCol icon become highlighted in yellow or orange (red not a good idea due to potential issues with colour blindness/high contrast)  when you hover over it.

If you use the mouse to select an email in list, but happen to click where that 'greyed out' trash icon is located, then you will delete the email instead of opening it.

It really needs an on hover highlight in yellow (red not a good idea due to potential issues with colour blindness/high contrast)  when you hover over it.
