Suggest you post a question in the Support Forum to get some help on sorting out the issue. 
But as aheads up:
You said you changed font to  Garamond but did you set this up for BOTH 'Fonts for : 'Latin 'AND 'Other Writing Systems' ?
Changing the font only effects the emails received/viewing content and emails you compose/write. 
It does not effect font in other areas. This has always been the case.

Setting fonts for just Latin does not effect emails sent using unicode, hence the need to set fornts for 'Other Writing Systems' as well.
Changing the font only effects the emails received/viewing content and emails you compose/write. 
It does not effect font in other areas. This has always been the case.
